The Teatro Regio is synonymous with opera performances since 1740. Since its construction the Regio becames an architectural model in the whole Europe. The original building was destroyed by fire in 1936, then redesigned by Carlo Molino, was inaugurated in 1973 with the Giuseppe Verdi’s Sicilian Vespers’s performance, directed by Maria Callas and Giuseppe Di Stefano. Opera House in the city of Turin and one of the largest and most efficient of Italy, the Regio has gained over the past decades a prominent artistic role in the European and international overview, as evidenced by the numerous tours throughout Europe and in Far East. Worldwide fame’s actors, singers, directors, musicians, designers and conductors cross its stage every day and more than 150.000 spectators attend the shows every year.
