“Four museums, a rich heritage”. Fondazione Torino Musei was born on July 2002. The museums that come under the aegis of the Foundation are the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GAM, Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Arts), Palazzo Madama – Museo Civico d’Arte Antica (Civic Museum of Antique Art), the Rocca and Borgo Medievale (Fortress and Medieval Village), and the Museo d’Arte Orientale (MAO, Museum of Oriental Art). From the outset, the museums forming part of the Foundation highlighted the importance of introducing radical changes in the layout of the exhibition space; measures aimed at safeguarding and implementing the collections; major promotional initiatives to increase visitor flow and gradually offer better and more efficient services for the public.
